Meet the boy who competes in global surfing competitions and he’s just nine years old. Tanner Corbitt, from Tequesta, Florida, started surfing at just 3-years-old when his mum would push him into the waves. Now the 9-year-old is one of the sport’s brightest talents – as he competes in events hosted by the Atlantic Surfing Federation, the National Scholastic Surfing Association and the Eastern Surfing Associa-tion. Tanner said: “I love surfing. It makes me feel like I’m flying. “We surf whenever we can during the week and on weekends. We skateboard and train with exercise equipment on flat days and rainy days. “My friends and family see me surfing on social media and they think it's awesome. It’s so cool and it’s so much fun. “I would like to be a professional surfer. I like traveling and would like to stay living near the ocean.” Tanner more than holds his own competing against boys as old as 16-years-old - usually finishing in the top five. Tanner’s dad Greg, 48, said: “I’m extremely proud of Tanner. “I think he has great skills for his age. He listens to critique and tries to learn from it, which is pretty good for a 9 year old. “Tanner works very hard. He takes part in competitions throughout Florida and has competed in Cali-fornia, Virginia Beach, North Carolina. ENDS
